happy times
A few good things that have happened lately:
Ant and I are both happy at work--though very busy. Every night this fortnight we fell into bed. But a public holiday today has helped us recharge a bit.
We had lunch with dear friends from church last week. It's great to feel as though we are making friends more and more. And we got to try these beetroot brownies while there--exciting times for me (not so much for Ant)!
We went on a sail boat trip with some friends from volleyball. The weather was perfect, the trip was very relaxing. We sailed out past the main harbour to a more remote area and went for a swim. We had a boat-picnic and chatted away with new people. Very enjoyable.
We have booked flights for October half term to the UK and for Christmas for Canada. So we are thrilled that we will get to see lots of family and friends soon!
What has made you happy recently?

Autumn has made me happy lately. Kath and I spent part of one day at the gardens in Annapolis, and then the rest of the afternoon driving through Nova Scotia forests. The late September flowers, including roses, carefully nurtured by the garden's staff and volunteers, were awesome. The red and orange leaves, tended only by God's own hand, were equally glorious.
Dad, that sounds awesome. I really miss the coloured leaves. But I suppose if I wait a bit more I might get to see some here. It's still around 30 C most days at the moment...!
Autumn has made me happy, too, with its warm sunny days and cool crisp nights. The snow-capped mountains look spectacular against the clear blue sky. We're enjoying "fall foods" like freshly picked local apples and pumpkin pie. Friendships with people in our care group are becoming increasingly meaningful.
Beth, I hope we get to experience an autumn as well; yours sounds lovely. I made pumpkin soup tonight as I think it should be autumn now, regardless of the temperature. :) We recently joined a care group and it has been good so far. I hope it develops in the way you've described. Thanks for your comment.
We're having a lovely time here watching the spring work its magic. Today is a little drizzly, but that will just make the grass grow even greener. Summer should be a doozie, though I'm kinda looking forward to the heat. (That's weird coming from me, I know!) It looks like Micah is entering the final lap for his PhD, which means we're looking at all sorts of options for 2011.
I love the smiley dinner. My kids would be so excited to see that. Oh yeah... we are here in BC for Christmas... I think for many Christmas's to come. How's HK? Cute pic of you and Ant at the end there. I liked reasding Leslies comments. It made me smile
