tired and mellow

Ant and I tried out a route to his new work today. Our round trip was 22 miles (35 km) and took three hours. The long time of the journey was partly because we stopped to check the map countless times along the way, argue about our cycling styles, and one stop for kebabs on the way home. It was a pretty good trip, actually, although we are both exhausted.

ahhhh yes, in my experience
maps + married couple = argument!

Three hours to get to work though! Sheesh! I'd get no work done after that!

three hours, Sare your a trooper.... I am lucky if I make it all the way to work (20 minutes) and back (and other 20). Are there many hills.

Fortunately, his cycle will probably be under an hour. The length of time was all taken up by stopping and starting, looking for the right road, and so on. Even so I think that Ant is a star to ride so far. I have only a 35 minute journey to work.

Sonya, I am impressed that you are cycling to work. Keep it up.

Ant's used to riding on his bike; he's nuts about it. Therefore, he will get used to it, I think. Hope he does well at work.

I walk to work every day, but especially now that the bus rides cost £2.00 (£1.00 for Oyster card holders). How shocking!

Sarah - dont be too impressed.. I had to quit for the winter becuase I had to leave for work and come home in the dark... so I will start again in the spring. You were actually my inpiration to get a bike though. I would like to keep it up and some day to a cycling trip in some flat part or Europe.
